Urban Artist Network- Artist Services

Many artists struggle to express their visions while meeting daily needs in a society that often does not value their work, a problem that is compounded by lack of access to training and resources. The Urban Artist Network's vision and purpose is to close the gap between urban artists and their communities by offering the tools for artists and communities to reach their goals together. As an artist information source we offer a wide array of services from community outreach programs, lectures/workshops, and artist representation, as well as, the production of various painting services and sponsoring cultural events. With professional training, we help artists refine and develop skills that will enhance their careers or facilitate the growth of their organization.

• Outreach: By overseeing community service workers and volunteers, the Urban Artist Network in conjunction with various neighborhood associations has created community mural projects throughout the Midwest.  An example of the positive effects of UAN Outreach programs can be found in Broad Ripple Village & Fountain Square Arts Districts.  By implementing our aerosol art program, there has been a significant decrease in illegal graffiti. In 2001 the UAN was presented with an award by the BRVA for our support and dedication to the beautification of the Broad Ripple Village.

• Lectures/Workshops: UAN offers various lecture services on the topic of using aerosol art as commitment to community beautification. We also offer an outside consultation workshop as an insight to the culture of graffiti art.

• Artist Representation: UAN is committed to promoting emerging artists in various mediums. By being represented by the UAN/BRIDGE Collective, artists will have the advantage of access to a range of arts venues, gallery shows and museum exhibits through our network of connections and relationships in the art community.
